The Hunger Games adalah cerita adaptasi dari sebuah best selling novel Suzanne Collins’ yang telah terjual sebanyak lebih daripada 200,000 copies.. The Hunger Games ni adalah satu acara tahunan di Panem di mana cuma sorang lelaki dan sorang perempuan yang berumur 12 - 18 tahun dari setiap daerah di Capitol terpilih.. dan cuma sorang saja yang boleh survive! Sinopsis:In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts.

Each year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send two young representatives (a teenage boy and girl) to compete in the Hunger Games. They are selected by lottery. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” are forced to eliminate their competitors until one survivor remains. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
Survival games should be an exciting experience that gives you the thrill and leisure; but what happens when you need to risk your life on the thin line just to keep yourself alive. Imagine having to feel the fear of being the chosen one merely by drawing lots, especially when you’re just a teenager and knows nothing about the cruel world. What would you do if you’re the chosen one, or your loved ones became the chosen one? Would you leave the fate to the hands of the stronger ones or would you fight to the end of your last breath?
